Hire quality canoeing equipment for a half day of exploring the canoeing capital of Australia.

Our hires are per canoe and NOT per person. 


A half day canoe hire is great for splashing around and having fun in the Canoeing Capital of Australia. With numerous rivers and creeks feeding into Lake Yarrunga, you'll never be short of places to explore!

This hire is for up to two adults per canoe only. If you have children, please see our family hire options.


Your canoe hire includes

 - All required canoeing equipment, including

 - 1 x canoe (Wenonah Prospector, Wenonah Heron or Silverbirch Broadland) 

 - 2 x aluminium paddles

 - 2 x life jackets (PFD)

 - Laminated maps of the local waterways along with local knowledge and route advice

 - Foundational technique coaching and safety instruction

 - Return transport for your group, canoes & accessories to the location


Our staff will provide route recommendations on the day based on your experience, abilities, interests and of course the weather! Our goal is to ensure you have a great experience exploring one of our favourite places. Launch locations may include Tallowa Dam or Bendeela based on a range of factors including water levels, weather conditions, site access and more. If you have a specific location request please let us know at the time of booking.

You will receive foundational technique coaching and safety instruction from your guide before heading out on your journey.


Valley Outdoors' canoes are high quality craft provided by Paddle and Portage Canoes: Australia’s only importer of Wenonah and Silverbirch Canoes. Silverbirch Broadland 15' and 16' models are manufactured in the UK using advanced roto moulding techniques to create a stable, robust and efficient shaped plastic canoe. Wenonah Prospector 16' and Wenonah Heron 15' t-formex (previously royalex) models are hand crafted in the USA. Wenonah has been mastering its process for over 50 years and is known for its rich canoeing history.


No experience is required - just a willingness to jump in!
