Hire ultralight canoes and premium accessories for multiple days - available in the Kangaroo Valley or for "take away" to other expedition venues.

A multiple day ultralight canoe hire is great for getting deep into Australia’s most scenic flatwater paddling venue. With numerous arms of the Kangaroo River, Upper Shoalhaven River, Lake Yarrunga, and other small creeks to explore - a lifetime of paddling exploration can be done! Alternatively, load up an ultralight canoe and head off on an expedition on one of the many other fantastic waterways in NSW.

It's also a great way to try before you buy! Feel free to ask us about our packages with Paddle and Portage Canoes: Australia’s only importer of Wenonah Canoes.

For those who need performance and a lightweight vessel. Our ultralight fleet consists of a range of Wenonah canoe designs all made of ultra-light and ultra-strong aramid fibre (commonly known as Kevlar). This creates a stiff, strong and light package which has unrivalled benefits for performance on the water. These canoe models reward good technique for those that have a little more experience paddling – but are also suitable for beginners.

Models available include:

 - Prism (solo) The Prism is incredibly versatile, it'll take you comfortably over all kinds of waters. Blending efficiency, stability, capacity, and finesse, it's ideal for cruising with a light load, but also has the volume needed for medium-length trips. The Prism is all about glide and speed. It's a lean boat that tracks the best of those reviewed, yet will turn quickly enough, and returns to a stable position more readily than other fast canoes.

 - Spirit II (2-person) Like a Swiss Army Knife, the Spirit II does everything. As efficient as a long-hulled canoe and as manoeuvrable as a short one, the Spirit II strikes a balance between all good things. Roomy enough for longer trips, stable enough for fishing. Perfect for lake travel but at home on moving water. Seaworthy and predictable in wind and waves. The Spirit does it all.

 - 17 Wenonah (2-person) The original 17 Wenonah. Designed in 1965, this instant classic was originally built out of wood strip and fiberglass in a backyard shed. The ultralight version was carefully replicated by using a handcrafted mold from the original boat. The 17 Wenonah displays lines similar to the classic wooden hulls built in the early 1900's. A great general use, canoe camping, and family boat with a unique look and storied past. This canoe paddles like a large Prospector that has the capacity to fit the whole family but can still be paddled solo once you get to camp.

 - Escape (2- person) The Escape is a shorter version of the popular Minnesota II, with similar lines and the increased manoeuvrability that comes along with a shorter canoe. It's a medium sized performance tandem, and a very versatile craft. The Escape is a sleek performance canoe that will paddle well on streams and rivers, as well as larger lakes. It has fair depth and width to hold plenty of gear, while its flared bow and extra depth at bow and stern keeps you dry in the choppiest waters. If you are looking for a canoe that's easier to manage on bushy portages and twisty streams the Escape is the one to choose.

 - Seneca (up to 3 adults, or 2 adults and up to 3 children under 12) For three-person paddling adventures, few canoes perform like the Seneca. Power-paddling to the next lake or playing in easy water, the Seneca's great initial stability and efficiency turn you into a harmonious paddling team. The Seneca is a big canoe with enough freeboard to keep gear and equipment dry. Designed for family and general use, it's also great for a group of 3 mates out for a weekend.

Valley Outdoors' ultralight canoes are high quality craft provided by Paddle and Portage Canoes: Australia’s only importer of Wenonah Canoes. Wenonah canoe models are hand crafted in the USA. Ultra-light hulls are stiff and incredibly light. They are ideal for speed and distance paddling and for all people or conditions that demand the lightest gear. Aramid, the fiber used for aerospace, body armor and bulletproof vests, is amazingly light and strong. They've used it for more than 30 years to construct extremely light and tough canoes. Wenonah Canoe is the worlds largest maker of canoes using Aramid.

No experience is required - just a willingness to jump in! But those with canoeing experience will be richly rewarded by these performance boats.
