Shoalhaven Gorge Multi-day Self-Guided Canoe Hire (Ultralight 2-seater Canoe)

From AUD $230.00
  • Location: Gangagruwan, Kangaroo Valley, NSW
  • Product code: PPH1NH

Paddlers from all over the world come to paddle up the famous Shoalhaven Gorge. As one of Australia’s most untouched and remote flat water overnight paddling destinations, there is no better place to explore via paddle craft. Using a canoe, you can bring all of the things you need plus all of the things that you want, to escape to the wilderness in comfort and see all that The Canoeing Capital of Australia has to offer. If you have the time, we recommend making this a three day trip to explore sections of the gorge on foot and see if you can find some of its many hidden waterfalls and swimming holes.

Why Choose Ultralight for your journey?

  • Increased storage capacity
  • Improved tracking - a lot less effort to keep straight
  • Greatly improved speed and efficiency, decreasing fatigue when paddling
  • Premium wooden paddles included as standard - lighter and nicer in the hands than aluminium (reducing fatigue even)

Time to allow:

Minimum =  2 days

Recommended = 3 - 4 days (this will allow time to explore the gorge on foot as well as by canoe)

What you might see:

  • Azure Kingfishers

  • Sea Eagles

  • Echidnas

  • Wallaroos

  • Many more reptile and bird life

  • Sandstone cliffs

  • Drowned forest (sunken trees)

Some other things to do on the water:

  • Picnic - when paddling up the Kangaroo River and Shoalhaven Gorge, there are some good spots to stop off and have a picnic next to the river

  • Swimming - The river is fresh water and safe for swimming on warm summer days.
