Time to allow:

2-4 hours - allows for travel time from Valley Outdoors, briefing and time on the water to paddle and take in the scenery

  • Kangaroos/Wallabies

  • Many more reptile and bird life


Some other things to do on the water:

  • Picnic - when paddling up the Kangaroo River, there are some good spots to stop off and have a picnic next to the river

  • Swimming - The Kangaroo River is freshwater and safe for swimming on warm summer days


Included in the hire:

  • 1 x single kayak

  • Transport of the kayak and/or participant/s

  • Paddles and life jackets for all participant/s

  • Map of the area (1 per booking)

  • Foundational instruction and local knowledge (approx 15 minutes of briefings)

  • Optional water games including: frisbee, ball, nature and bingo cards (perfect for families, friends or couples)


Some things to consider:

  • Valley Outdoors offers free transport of canoe and participants with your hire. However, if you are transported by Valley Outdoors, you will have a set pick-up time. If you would like a flexible departure time we recommend following our staff out in your own vehicle. This option will allow you to finish up whenever you are ready and leave the canoe at the river for us to pick up later. 
  • If you decide to choose to drive your own vehicle, you will be asked to return all loose items back to Valley Outdoors as you depart.
  • In Bendeela Recreation Area. The following are prohibited:

  1. Dogs

  2. Smoking

  3. Fishing without a fishing license
