If you prefer a through trip, this is for you. This two to three day paddle provides ever-changing views as you make your way from Bendeela Recreation Area into the Morton National Park via the Kangaroo River. The main stretch of river is 21 km from end to end but with an additional 21 km of exploration available through side journeys, with hidden gems spread throughout. With close to 20 campsites along the way you can choose to cover as much ground as possible for maximum exploration, or, take your time and soak up the atmosphere.
Time to allow:
Minimum = 2 days
Recommended = 3 - 4 days (this will allow time to explore the gorge on foot as well as by canoe)

Some other things to do on the water:
Picnic - when paddling up the Kangaroo River and Shoalhaven Gorge, there are some good spots to stop off and have a picnic next to the river
Swimming - The river is fresh water and safe for swimming on warm summer days.
Explore - Some of the side creeks along the Kangaroo River are quite unique and hide some beautiful hidden "sunken forests" allowing you to paddle between the trees.

If you decide to choose to drive your own vehicle, you will be asked to return all loose items back to Valley Outdoors as you depart.
There is minimal phone reception in the remote areas of Kangaroo Valley, Valley Outdoors advises a responsible approach to all physical activities to avoid injury when in a remote area.
