Experience a culinary canoe journey like no other.  Near the confluence of the Shoalhaven and Crookhaven Rivers lays a unique and beautiful paddling location that delights not just your visual sense but also your tastebuds.  This river system provides a perfect growing habitat for the world-famous Sydney Rock Oyster – oddly named after Sydney, considering that they can be found from Southern Queensland all the way to the Victorian border.  This particular waterway is also home to Jim Wild’s Oysters, a famous oyster farming company that is home to the record-holding fastest oyster shucker in the world.  Join us in our premium canoes as we meander down the mangrove-lined river, past the oyster leases, to the dock at Jim Wild’s Oysters.  There you’ll be treated to a personalised tour and tasting by a knowledgeable oyster farmer.  You’ll learn about this precious ecosystem and how an array of environmental factors combine to create such an impressive aquatic delicacy, here in the Shoalhaven Region.

Jim Wilds Oysters is a small family-owned and operated oyster farm. This working farm has been operating since 1979. All oysters are processed on-site so you can watch them at work. Enjoy freshly shucked Oysters by the water. Delicious and fresh oyster tasting - learn about the oyster industry and sample different varieties.

Your tour will involve expending a moderate level of energy while paddling, but having ample time for relaxing while you kick back and enjoy the food samples in this farm gate setting.

No experience is required: you’ll get full support from qualified instructors.

NOTE: Minimum of 6 participants to depart.
